About Me

Thanks for stopping by! Eating seasonally, gathering people, having just the right cookie in your bag for that long day - all things I believe help us make our way in this world. Here you'll find samples of my work and, if you want to stay awhile, recipes to peruse and play with.

As a freelance photographer and recipe writer, my work is informed by where we live. The PNW is generous with ingredients and it's a delightful journey to learn how to best use them. You might know me from my column, From Scratch, which ran in the Kitsap Sun for almost ten years. I have also contributed to many regional magazines and am always up for a new project or a collaboration.

I'm a teacher and volunteer in our community, ardent home baker, novice forager, and that person checking out all the new cookbooks at the library. You can also find me at BARN messing up their kitchen and teaching a variety of classes to kids and adults.
